World's Largest Rainbow Parade!

I love spring and I love color.  So what could be better than combining them both into the World's Largest Rainbow Parade???   Jessi Arrington, of Workshop, who dresses even more flashier than I do (total girl crushing), enthusiastically set the world's record this weekend by parading 179 participants dressed from one color head to toe over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan.  Our rainbow of colors felt like a miniature version of Holi welcoming in Spring. Go #RainbowParade! Go #WorldRecordDay!

Enterprise Over the Hudson River

Enterprise 4/27/12 This morning we witnessed the last flight of Space Shuttle Enterprise on its' way to JFK. It blew my mind how something so ginormous could piggy back onto another ginormous plane and fly so fast! I felt like a little kid in amazement like, 'Whoah...How do airplanes fly? How do boats float? How does the internet work?" And then I saw this link and my mind went bonkers. Thank goodness it's Friday. The Scale of The Universe

#StopKony

*4/20 update
I smiled seeing a trail of KONY posters around Carroll Gardens last night. I've been curious to see how far this experiment of using media could change how we react and at the same time help the Invisible Children. The youtube video went viral in March with over 88 million hits, it was shared throughout Facebook, written in the news.  But shortly thereafter, the creator behind the film, Jason Russell went mental. I wondered how much of his naked escapade would effect people in caring for the cause or would it just turn into a joke/ phase out as a passing bandwagon. I wondered how much it could unite us all for a common cause.

Honestly, yes, I am embarrassed to be associated with Jason Russell, but I still believe in the message of the film, it hasn't changed. I don't think I saved the world by donating money or putting up posters last night in my neighborhood, but I do know that we were able to share the awareness to strangers who talked to us about the signs and that it's better than doing nothing at all because we lose by being indifferent.

I think if the KONY2012 campaign got 1 or 2 people together to believe in a cause and to take action, it isn't a failure.

Bowling Season is Over! (On to Skee Ball!!!!!)

Alrighty. Ive been slacking with blogging. Heres whats going on in my neck of the woods with sports.

1. First things first-- bowling season with the magnificent New York City Social Sports Club is over! (They have more events lined up-- click and join!)
gym tan laundry! new york city social sports club
2. Out of 32 teams my team (Gym, Tan, Laundry) ended up ranking........ #31-- whoo hoo!!!!!
Hey.
We worked really hard for that.
At one point we actually did rank last as #32 and even got an award :)
Our best game was actually our last (pictured above) after taking shots of whiskey.

3. I never rolled 100. I know. I blame my ear infection. My worst score was a 37! But once I was cured, rolled a 93 on my last game.

However, our team captain Lisa (thanks for the pics) pulled through for all of us and started bowling OVER 100-- I think the last one was 135??? El Capitan! El Capitan!

4. We will miss our weekly Brooklyn Bowl and Blue Ribbon food. brooklyn bowl

5. More fun pics from our last game found here:

We have one free game next Monday, but that doesnt change our ranking. Oh well. Good Times! In another week, it will be skee ball season!
